Who we are
Lowkey Tea LLC (“Lowkey Tea”, “we”, “us”) is a software company based in Washington, United States. This policy covers this website, email you send us, and Scylla’s Band, our open-source text-to-speech software and model. Each of our apps has its own policy; see Our apps.
This website
The site is a set of static pages. There are no accounts, forms, cookies, analytics or ads, and pages don’t load scripts, fonts or images from other companies.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes the technical details every browser sends with a request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for. Cloudflare may show us aggregate numbers, like requests per day, which don’t identify anyone. Cloudflare handles this information under the Cloudflare privacy policy.
Links to GitHub, Hugging Face, Discord and the Scylla’s Band voice gallery (hosted on GitHub Pages) take you to services run by other companies, which have their own privacy policies.
When you email us, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. We use them to answer you and keep a record of the conversation in case you write again. We don’t add you to a mailing list, and we don’t sell or share your address.
Mail to info@lowkeytea.dev passes through Cloudflare Email Routing, which forwards it to our mailbox at Google Workspace, where it’s stored. Both handle it as our service providers.
We delete support email once it’s no longer needed, or sooner if you ask.
Scylla’s Band
Scylla’s Band is software and a model that you download and run yourself. Speech is generated entirely on your device: the text you give it and the audio it produces are not sent to us or to anyone else.
Setting it up uses two outside services. Installing the runtime downloads Python packages from the Python Package Index (PyPI), and the download command fetches the model files from Hugging Face. Those services see your computer’s requests under their own privacy policies. We don’t receive information about you from either, apart from the total download counts Hugging Face shows every model publisher.
The demo page runs the same model inside your browser. When you choose to start it, your browser downloads the model files from Hugging Face and stores them in this site’s browser storage on your device, where you can delete them from the demo page. The text you type and the audio it makes stay in your browser.
If you build Scylla’s Band into your own app or service, you’re responsible for how that product handles your users’ information.
Our apps
Every app we release has its own privacy policy describing what that app collects and why. Each one is listed here and linked from the app’s App Store or Google Play page, and it takes precedence over this page for that app.
No Lowkey Tea apps are available right now.
Children
This website and Scylla’s Band are not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Your rights
You can ask whether we hold personal information about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. In practice, the only personal information we hold is email you’ve sent us. Write to info@lowkeytea.dev from the address you used, and we’ll respond within 30 days.
We don’t sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising, as those terms are defined in U.S. state privacy laws.
Changes
When this policy changes, we update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information we already hold, we’ll post it here before it takes effect.
